"Over fourteen years of ministry, I’ve served two small churches.  In my work for those churches I’ve never been in need of an in-house receptionist, but as a pastor I’m always in need of an assistant.

For the church’s day-to-day and week-to-week operations, there are tasks I like to do, tasks I can manage, and tasks that I don’t particularly enjoy.  Regardless of what those tasks are, though, one thing is true:  they can all take valuable time away from the ministry that I’m called to.  It is genuinely liberating to know that my church will have a well-produced bulletin for Sunday, and that I won’t have to choose between building a bulletin and spending time on people.  Or to know that a particular ministry’s volunteers will be contacted and scheduled, and that I won’t have to steal time away from study and preparation to make sure that gets done.  Or that the membership roster is up-to-date with current contact info, and I won’t have to explain to my family why I’ll be late for dinner again.

Even in the small church, there are probably a thousand behind-the-scenes tasks every year.  Tasks that require time.  Time that adds up.  And every small-church pastor thinks, “If I could just free up that time, I could be so much more focused and effective in my ministry.”  And every small church thinks, “We’d like to free pastor from those tasks, but there’s no way we could afford a secretary.  And besides, what qualified person would want to work for just a few hours per week?”

But there’s the charm in a church virtual assistant.  With Glenda, you have the assurance that you’re hiring a well-qualified assistant that knows the ins and outs of church ministry.  You don’t need to pay a whole lot, because you’re just paying for those few tasks you need done.  And still, the end result is that pastor’s time is freed up to be a pastor:  to study, to pray, to be with people."
